How to Customize Spotify Playlist Cover Photos

You can choose a new picture from your computer or take a photo with your camera on a mobile device. This allows you to display any cover image you want. How to customize a Spotify playlist cover art.

Spotify playlist image tips

If you select a photo or image for a playlist cover, Spotify will have access to that image. So make sure you have the right to use the photo, that it doesn’t contain inappropriate images like nudity, and it also doesn’t show any private information.

Currently, you can only change the cover art for a playlist that you create yourself or that you see when connected to Shazam. If a friend shares a playlist with you or you find one on the Home tab, you can’t change the cover art.

Note that playlist covers are square and must be under 10MB in size. Therefore, try to select or crop an image to the same dimensions as 300 x 300 or 400 x 400 pixels. Also, if you save the image as a JPG, it will likely have a smaller file size.

As of this writing, you don’t need a Spotify Premium account to change a playlist’s cover photo.
