Finally, Twitter users can edit their tweets on the social media platform. Made a mistake or just want to change what was said? Select regions can now edit their posts using the official Edit Tweet feature on Twitter Blue. That’s how it works.

For years, Twitter users have been clamoring for a way to edit their tweets. Whether it’s fixing simple grammatical errors or changing outdated information, such a feature has many uses and has been the top demand for quite some time.

Luckily the time has finally come. To Tease an editing function Earlier this year, Twitter has now started rolling it out to select users in various regions ahead of a global rollout. That means you’ll now see edited tweets from people with access to your timeline.

So, if you’re in one of the lucky regions and want to edit your tweets, here’s how you can do it through the new Twitter Blue feature.

How to edit your tweets with Twitter Blue

First, it’s important to note that editing tweets is currently only available to Twitter Blue subscribers. Those using the regular version of the application do not have access yet as the full launch date is still undetermined. Additionally, Twitter is gradually rolling it out in select regions, starting with Canada, Australia, and New Zealand on October 3. There is no telling when other markets will be able to join.

So if you meet the above criteria, editing tweets couldn’t be easier. After your original post goes live, just tap on the post, look for the three dots in the top right corner and select the “Edit Tweet” option if you want to make any changes. From there you can make any changes and even completely rewrite the tweet from scratch if you wish.

Twitter Blue users can now edit tweets up to five times in 30 minutes.

However, it is worth noting two important details. For starters, tweets only have 30 minutes to edit. After that brief window, the option appears to be disabled, meaning you can’t go back and change old posts. Second, the tweet history is still visible to all other users on the platform. For example, if you share some fake news and then edit the post, anyone can tap and look back to see the original misinformation.

Below is a simple step-by-step guide on how to edit your tweets:

  1. Make sure you have an active Twitter Blue subscription.
  2. Send your original tweet.
  3. Look at the tweet you want to edit
  4. Tap the three dots to find the Edit Tweet option within 30 minutes of the first post.
  5. Edit anything you want and even rewrite the full tweet.
  6. Your edited tweet will now be updated for everyone to see.
