Your main goal in The Mortuary Assistant is to find out which of the three bodies harbors a secret demon waiting to possess you. To do this, you’ll need to pick up several small clues throughout the night. These include audible cues, haunting events, and even markings on each body—if you’re lucky.
Before you begin, it’s helpful to learn how many markers there are to identify a demon and how to look out for each one. Since they have many manifestations, you must always be on the lookout. It also means you’re always vulnerable to whatever scares the game throws at you.
Spook to watch out for
One of the easiest ways to tell if a body is possessed by a demon is to keep checking it. A possessed body becomes sometimes change positions or make slight movements, and that’s a good sign that it’s the right body. However, this isn’t necessarily an accurate method of finding a demon, since it can move the wrong body to distract you from his smell.
There are other clues that can help you narrow down the exact body you need to cremate. The next biggest clue is the presence of marks on the body left by the demon. Although all bodies have a set of markings, a possessed body will gain new markings as you work on it.
Also, after returning a corpse to cold storage, double-check it before cremating it to look for new leads.
Learning the name of the demons
While you always need to be on the lookout for signs of which body is possessed, that won’t necessarily help you Except for you know the name of the demon. Luckily, you should have found all four markings of the name when you are done working on the third body.
In order for the symbols to appear, you must use a leave streaks. These are used to determine when a marker is nearby. You can find the rental strips in the cupboard next to the computer.
Press Q to pull out the strip, then go around the morgue. The strip begins to burn and eventually ignites. Once it’s fully burned, the mark will be somewhere nearby. Check the closets, ceiling, and behind doors to find what you’re looking for.
Create the mark and burn the body
Once you’ve found all four of the demon’s marks, you can find out its name and create its mark. Go to the computer.
To determine the correct order for the markers, you must enter the night shift system on the computer. From here you can see all sorts of demon names, each with a unique collection of markings.
Only one name has all four markers you collected, so now you can put them in the right order. Take the mark and place it on the body that you are convinced harbors a demon. You only get one chance to burn the right body, so be sure of your choice.
Once you have set the mark, rolls the corpse back into the freezer. This time place it in front of the oventhen press the red button to burn the body.
The following cutscene will tell you if you got it right. If not… well, you are now doomed to be possessed by demons forever. Congratulations!
