How to earn Star Coins fast

While you can of course grind Star Coins from the various Nightthorns that reappear throughout the Vale over time, here are some of the most reliable ways to earn Star Coins fast.

mining of gemstones

There are various deposits around the valley that you can mine. Some clearly show the gems buried within, allowing you to mine them and collect the precious jewels that fall. Many of these sell for over 600 Star Coins, so you can quickly repeat this process once deposits start appearing again.

You can make this even faster (and more reliable) by meeting up with a friend while doing it. Then, as you build your friendship level with different characters, you can assign them different roles.

Make sure you have assigned a character Miningand select “Let’s hang out” as the dialog option.

NOTE: The higher your friendship level with this character, the more effective the following method will be!

Now, when you mine with this friend, deposits with gems have the potential to drop multiple gems, and moreover, gems even have the possibility of dropping from deposits that do NOT contain gems, so you will likely get even more !

Catch and sell fish

Another lucrative opportunity comes in the form of fishing. With plenty of fishing spots in Peaceful Meadow and Dazzle Beach (both available in the early game) you can continuously fish and catch fish that can be sold individually for up to 600-800 Star Coins.

This can be improved in a similar way by assigning the fishing reel to a friend and getting them to hang out with you while fishing, earning you extra fish with most reels. There’s even a way to automate this relatively early on.

Unlock Moiana’s realm and bring her back to the village, and after some of her quests, eventually a quest line called Fix the Boat will appear for her.

Complete this quest to create a permanent location on Dazzle Beach where Moana will deliver up to a certain limit of fish that she catches, which you can then collect and do with as you wish. Then when you want to sell those fish, you basically have a money making machine without having to do anything!
