The Season of Plunder has finally arrived in Destiny 2, and with it several new seasonal activities to play. One of these is called Expedition, a new three-man matchmaking mode in which Wardens must stop an opposing band of pirates from stealing their treasure and escort them to a safe zone. How to play Expedition in Destiny 2
- begin expedition
To start the mission simply select the rudder on your target board and the activity will be on the far left of the top view as shown above.
- Go to the drill site
After loading the activity, go to where the indicator is pointing. There you defend the drill while it digs for your treasure.
- Defend the drill
The drilling sequence has begun. Now waves of enemies will start appearing. Defeat them all before they get to your drill.
- collect your treasure
At some point during your defense, treasure will erupt from the drill sequence. They look like exotic engrams, but unfortunately they don’t work the same way. When the treasure starts to erupt from the drill, you have 20 seconds to pick it up and throw it into a nearby storage unit. If not, the treasure will explode and you will have to repeat the process.
- Destroy the jammer
At around 50% completion, a jammer will appear, halting your progress. Go where your indicator is pointing and destroy the jammer. After that, return to the drill site.
- Transport your treasure chest
After your treasure collection reaches 100%, it’s time to start transporting your loot. Go to the Treasure Transport Unit and begin the moving process. You have to stay close in the blue ring or it won’t move.
- Rinse and repeat
After reaching the next drilling site, it’s time to flush and repeat. Defend your drill by defeating the waves of enemies that appear while at the same time collecting and tossing your treasure into the transport unit. Do this until you get back to 100%.
- Transportation… again
After you get back to 100%, it’s time to transport your loot again. Stand in the blue ring around him and move him until he reaches the final spot.
- last defense
Finally the final defense has begun. After reaching the transport plaza, you must now defend your transport by defeating waves of enemies that appear. A boss will also appear at this time. Defeat the boss and all enemies until your loot is safely removed and you complete the activity.
- Collect your loot
It’s time to collect your loot. Once your loot is taken away, a chest will appear offering you loot. If you have a treasure map, you can collect bonus loot by digging up the treasure in the green areas as shown in the picture.
