How to See Recently Deleted Apps on iPhone and Android
Want to see a list of recently deleted apps on iPhone or Android? Maybe it’s because you want to reinstall some of them. Or maybe you want to check if someone else with access to your phone installed and deleted something without permission.
Although iOS and Android don’t track deleted apps, you always have the option to view a list of apps that aren’t present on the device. It’s then easy to get an idea of apps you—or someone else with access to your device—have recently downloaded and deleted.

The best way to look for apps that you may have recently uninstalled on iPhone and iPad is to check the App Store shopping list. Don’t worry – it also logs all free downloadable apps.
To access your shopping list in the App Store:
- Tap your profile picture in the top left of the App Store screen.
- Beat Bought. If you’re an organizer or a member of a Family Sharing group, tap my purchases on the following screen.
- Switch to Not on this iPhone/iPad Tab. This should show all the apps that aren’t installed on your device, automatically sorted in descending order by purchase/download date.
If an app is at the top of the list and appears to be fairly new additions, it’s safe to assume it was recently deleted.
However, it’s also possible that you – or someone else – recently deleted an app further down the list. Unfortunately, there’s no other way to know than to check the Files app for traces of recent app activity.
If you want to re-download an app from the list, just tap Download icon next to it. If you also want to recover the deleted data related to the app, you may need to restore your iPhone via iCloud or iTunes. However, some apps like WhatsApp and Snapchat have built-in backup mechanisms, so you should check that first.
However, iPhone and iPad also allow you to hide App Store purchases. So it’s also a good idea to show your hidden purchases list. To achieve it:
- open that settings app on your iPhone and tap your AppleID at the top of the screen.
- Beat Media & Purchases > view account.
- Scroll to the bottom of the screen and tap Hidden purchases.
That should bring up a list of apps you’ve hidden on your iPhone and iPad. Recent hidden purchases or downloads appear at the top of the screen.
The list of hidden purchases does not offer any Download button, so you must unhide the app and download it via the App Store shopping list (which allows you to find out exactly when the app was originally downloaded or purchased). If you don’t want to worry about the details, just search for the app on the App Store and download it.
Tip: iPhone and iPad offer several ways to hide apps from the home screen without uninstalling them. Learn how to find hidden apps on iPhone and iPad.

If you’re using an Android phone, the quickest way to find out apps that have recently been removed from your device is to go to the Google Play Store.
Here’s how to find deleted apps – paid and free – on your Android device:
- open that Google play store app and tap your profile portrait at the top right of the screen. Then tap manage apps & Device.
- Switch to Administer Tab. Then tap Furnished and select the labeled option Not installed.
- Tap the filter icon and select recently added. This will filter Android apps based on when they were downloaded or purchased, with the newest appearing at the top.
If you want to download apps, check the box next to each item and tap Download Button. You may also want to learn how to recover or restore deleted app data.
The above list does not show apps that are specific to an Android phone manufacturer – e.g. B.Samsung. You might also want to check out the third-party app gallery built into your device instead.
For example, to check a list of uninstalled apps in the Samsung Galaxy Store:
- open that Galaxy shop and tap the Menu symbol (three stacked lines).
- Beat My applications.
- Tap the filter icon and disable the Demonstrate installed applications Possibility. Then set the filter criteria to date of purchase.
Scroll down the list and tap Download next to any apps you want to install.
Use third-party utility to monitor app uninstalls on Android
It is impossible to identify the Google Play Store and app galleries like the Galaxy Store Everyone recently deleted apps because the best thing you can do is to filter uninstalled apps by purchase/download date.
To counteract this problem, you can install a third-party utility on Android devices to track deleted apps in future. This also includes sideloaded apps from APK repositories.
For example, here’s how to use App Manager to view recently deleted apps after you’ve completed setup.
- Open App manager.
- Tap the Menu icon (three lines on top of each other) and select the radio button next to Apps removed.
- View the list of recently installed apps. If you want to download an app, tap More Icon next to it for links to Play Store and third-party app galleries.
note: To make sure recently deleted apps appear at the top, tap filter icon and confirm that the After distance time Filter is active.
Aside from App Manager, many other tools in the Google Play Store can track recently deleted or missing apps, so don’t hesitate to take a look. However, similar apps are not available for the iPhone.
Keep track of your apps
As you’ve just seen, it’s not too difficult to get an idea of recently uninstalled apps by looking at your iPhone or Android’s purchase history. Hopefully both mobile operating systems will add native options that will make it easy to track recently uninstalled apps in the future. If you’re using an Android device, don’t forget that you always have the option to manually set up an app monitoring tool to keep logs of all app uninstalls.
