How to Translate Audio With Google Translate
Google Translate is not limited to translating text on websites and documents. You can also use this service to translate your audio. We’ll show you how to do it on your desktop and mobile.
Note that you cannot directly translate your recorded audio files with this service. You need to play your files when Google Translate is listening to translate your content from the source language to the selected target language.

Translate audio with Google Translate on desktop
If you’re using a Windows, Mac, Linux, or Chromebook computer, start by opening your favorite web browser and launching the Google Translate website. You don’t need to log into the site to access its features.
When the website opens, select the source language in the box on the left. This is the language your audio is in.
In the box on the right, select the language you would like to translate your audio into.
After selecting both source and target language, click on the microphone icon on the screen. If your browser asks you to access your computer’s microphone, allow it.
Speak into your computer’s microphone and Google Translate will translate your sound and display the result on your screen. To play the translated version, click the sound icon.
To translate an audio file stored on your computer, play that file after clicking the microphone icon on the Google Translate website. Make sure your speakers are turned up high enough for your microphone to pick up.
Translate your voice with google translator for mobile
To translate speech on an Android, iPhone or iPad device, first download and launch the free Google Translate app.
In the lower-left corner of the app, tap the language displayed.
From the Translate From menu, select the language that your original audio is in.
Tap on the language on the right and select the target language.
After selecting both languages, tap on the microphone icon at the bottom of the app. If the app asks you to access your phone’s microphone, allow it.
Now speak into your phone’s microphone and Google Translate app will translate your speech in real time.
You can hear the translated content by tapping the sound icon.
If you want to translate a saved audio file, transfer that file to another device and play it while Google Translate listens.
If you want to translate a conversation into two different languages in real-time, tap on the “Conversation” option at the bottom of the Google Translate app. On the following page, both you and your conversation partner can speak to have your conversations translated.
