You can use a Chromecast with an iPhone and even set it up with an iOS device. The process is almost identical compared to Android devices. However, there are some software requirements. Your iPhone must be running at least iOS 14 or later. You’ll also need an HDMI-enabled TV and a Wi-Fi connection that both devices can access.

The only thing an iPhone officially can’t do is cast the entire screen to a Chromecast. However, there are ways to do this with third-party apps. More on that later.

Set up Chromecast with an iPhone

Let’s start with your Chromecast first. If it’s brand new, you’ll have to go through the setup process, which you can do right from your iPhone.

  1. Download the Google Home app on your iPhone. Set it up with your Google account if you haven’t already.
  2. Connect your Chromecast device to your TV via HDMI and to a power outlet using the included power adapter.
  3. Allow the Chromecast device to turn on.
