How to Use Parental Controls on Peacock

Peacock is an excellent entertainment service for those who want to limit what content their kids can access within a streaming platform.

It offers five different parental control settings controlled by a PIN set by the parents. It is available to all Peacock users, including those streaming without a paid subscription.

Peacock offers five parental control options

Peacock implements parental controls by requiring a PIN to access certain content with maturity ranges at or above the selected range. These five domains correlate with the child’s age and content ratings.

Peacock offers five rating-based parental control options:

• Small children: Contains content suitable for all children.
• Older children: Contains programs suitable for children seven years and older. This content may contain violent fantasy.
• Family: Contains content that parents may find inappropriate for young children.
• Teenager: Includes programs that may contain material unsuitable for children under 13 years of age.
• Adult: Contains programs designed for adults over 18 years of age.

Creating different user profiles on Peacock does not affect the age ratings available. If you select a content area with parental controls, this restriction will be implemented for all profiles of the account.

How to use parental controls on Peacock

While Peacock is one of the best streaming services for kids, you can’t set parental controls through the mobile app. Instead, you must use your web browser.

To set a PIN and use parental controls, do the following:

1. Go to Peacock and log in to your account.
2. Click on your profile at the top right of your screen.
3. Choose Account in the upper right corner.
4. Go to settings.
5. Scroll down and toggle child lock on.
6. Choose what rating restrictions you want to apply to your account.
7. You will then be prompted to create a PIN in the four fields below your selection.
8. Enter a four-digit PIN of your choice and select it Turn on the Parental PIN button. This will successfully enable parental restrictions on your account.

The PIN must consist of four numbers, since no letters or special characters are allowed.

How to change your age rating on Peacock

You can change the term range at any time by following these steps:

1. Go to Peacock and log in to your account.
2. Click on your profile at the top right of your screen.
3. Choose Account in the upper right corner.
4. Go to settings.
5. Scroll down and under age restrictionclick Change TV rating.
6. Select the new rating you want.
7. Enter your PIN, then click Save Parent Rating.

As you can see, anyone can change your age rating if they know your PIN. There are many ways your kids can bypass parental controls. So try to create a PIN that is difficult to figure out.

Unblock content with your Peacock PIN

Now that your parental PIN is activated, you’ll need to enter it every time you want to watch content rated or above the age rating of the selected space.

Once you click play, a screen with four blank spaces will prompt you to enter your PIN.

As soon as you enter the last digit correctly, the content will be played automatically. This must be done again for each new episode or movie that meets or exceeds the specified parental control settings.

How to reset or change your Peacock PIN

Changing your Peacock PIN is pretty easy and only takes a few steps. What you need to do:

1. Go to Peacock and log in to your account.
2. Click on your profile at the top right of your screen.
3. Choose Account in the upper right corner.
4. Go to settings.
5. Scroll down and under Parental Control PINclick Change or reset parental control PIN.
6. If you just want to change your PIN, enter your current PIN, and then enter the new PIN you want to use.
7. click Save Parent PIN.
8. If you want to reset your PIN, click Reset Parent PIN.
9. Enter your current parental control PIN.
10. Re-enter your parental control PIN.
11. A code will be sent to the email address you used to create your Peacock account. Enter this code and click Save parental control.

If you cannot remember your PIN, you will need to contact Peacock Customer Service using the chat function on the Peacock TV website.

Peacock puts control back in the hands of the parents

Peacock’s wide range of parental control options allows parents to select content that is appropriate for their child’s age.

Once activated, Peacock parental controls will be placed on all streaming devices on the account.
