Is Bronny James going to college? Latest news, recruiting updates with Ohio State, USC interest

Bronny James played his last game in Sierra Canyon.

Now we wait and see where the eldest son of Lakers superstar LeBron James will continue his basketball career.

James has options. He could decide to turn pro right out of high school by playing in the NBA G League, Overtime Elite, or taking his talents abroad, but ESPN’s Paul Biancardi reported back in August 2022 that there was a “strong feeling” indicates that he will take college stretch instead.

If James decides to go to college, where will he end up?

Where does Bronny James go to college?

James remains non-binding but has received offers from several schools.

According to ESPN, James has offers from Kentucky, Memphis, Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon and USC.

Luca Evans of the Los Angeles Times reported in January that James was expected to make a postseason decision and that Ohio State, USC and Oregon are his top three schools.

After his senior season at Sierra Canyon High School, ESPN now has James as a four-star recruit and the 28th nominee in the country.

September 6, 2022: Bronny James posts pictures of himself in an Ohio State uniform on Instagram with the caption ‘buckeye nation? #notcommitted 🙂👍🏾”.

September 3, 2022: Bronny James attends the Ohio State football game against Notre Dame for an unofficial visit. Adam Jardy of The Columbus Dispatch reports that James “spent about four hours earlier in the day attending the program,” which included watching exercises and attending a photo shoot.

James received chants of “We want Bronny” from the crowd at the Ohio State vs. Notre Dame game.

March 14, 2023: NBA superstar Kevin Durant says his guess is James is going to USC.

“I’d like to see Bronny in college instead of going the other way.” said Durant. “I want to see Bronny Hoop. I want to be in real time, see what he’s doing and follow his journey.

“It’s obviously going to be easy for Bron to watch games when he’s at USC.”

Oregon

January 23, 2023: According to Bill Oram of The Oregonian, James did not actually receive a scholarship offer from Oregon. However, LeBron James says there’s “a chance” his son will play in Oregon next season, adding that Ducks coach Dana Altman “knows the interest.”

“I think Bronny can go to any college he wants,” LeBron said.

August 16, 2022: LeBron James responds to a report that Oregon has emerged as the front runner in landing Bronny.

“He hasn’t made a single visit, just made a few calls to coaches and universities.” The Lakers star tweeted. “If Bronny makes his choice, you’ll hear it from him.”
