Is Timo Meier playing tonight? Devils vs. Avalanche time, TV channel and live stream for Wednesday NHL game
The Devils acquired forward Timo Meier from the Sharks in a massive deal ahead of the trading deadline. It gives New Jersey a deadly weapon to wield in its top-six forward group for years to come.
Meier joins a Devils team in the middle of a breakout year. The club are currently second in the Metropolitan and are in a great position to reach the playoffs in the Eastern Conference. He is also the fourth Swiss player in the New Jersey squad, alongside compatriots Nico Hischier, Jonas Siegenthaler and Akira Schmid.
“He will be one of our top six [forwards]”Said Devils coach Lindy Ruff about Meier. “He’s a goalscorer. He’s got speed, he’s got size. He’s a big, physical guy who I think we need up front and I think can complement some of our talented guys.
Meier, 26, has 31 points and 52 points in 57 games played this year. He set out for a career-best 76 points last season and threatens to surpass that mark this year.

Will Timo Meier play against Avalanche tonight?
The newest member of the Devils is yet to make his debut.
Meier said he’s “eager” to join and play with the Devils, but his upper-body injury will delay his New Jersey debut.
The forward missed the Sharks’ last three games with an injury before being dealt to the Devils. It will also keep him out of Wednesday’s game against the Avalanche.
“Most likely, [he won’t play],” Ruff said on Tuesday. “There is an exam. There’s protocol he has to follow to still be cleared for contact, so hopefully that’s possible today or tomorrow.”
If Meier doesn’t play on Wednesday, his next chance to debut for the Devils is Friday, March 3, when the club takes on the Golden Knights in Vegas.
