Jakob Chychrun trade details: Senators send three picks to Coyotes for defenseman
The Jakob Chychrun saga in Arizona has come to an end.
The Coyotes traded defensemen to the Senators for three draft picks on Wednesday, ending Chychrun’s seven-year tenure with the franchise.
Chychrun’s name has been in trade rumors for over two years since it broke out in the 2020-21 season. With Arizona under construction and Chychrun in an extremely team-friendly deal, he provided a top trade chip for Coyotes general manager Bill Armstrong.

Senator’s draft pick protection
The 2023 first-round pick is protected if it finishes in the top five. In that case, the Coyotes would get an unprotected first-round pick for 2024.
The 2024 second-round pick could become a top-10 protected 2024 first-round pick if Ottawa advances to the 2023 Eastern Conference Finals.
