Kate Middleton Says Prince George Has Physique for This School Sport

Kate Middleton says Prince George and Princess Charlotte are tackling the same game!

The Princess of Wales, 41, made the revelation at Saturday’s Wales vs England Six Nations rugby match, where she and Prince William cheered on opposing teams. Prince William, 40, has been patron of Welsh Rugby Union since 2016, while Princess Kate, 41, supports England as patron of Rugby Football League and Rugby Football Union.

The royal couple attended a reception ahead of the event where they met injured athletes supported by the Welsh Rugby Charitable Trust. There, Princess Kate revealed that Prince George and Princess Charlotte both play rugby.

Accordingly Hello! Magazine told Kate that George, 9, is progressing from tag rugby to touch rugby at school, where he’s learning how to tackle – with an advantage.

“They’re trying to teach him the rules,” she said. “You move them because of their confidence. Because he’s tall, he has the physique.”

Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis all attend Lambrook School in Windsor, where, according to the school’s website, “sport is an integral part of the curriculum” for kindergarten and prep students. Preparatory students like George and Charlotte have the opportunity to try football, rugby, hockey, netball, cricket and more.

“We are always slightly competitive with each other. They all love sport and Louis is crazy about rugby,” the royal mother said of her athletic kids. “They’re at an age where they just love to run around.”

The rugby rivalry between Kate and William is fairly new having only taken over the patronage of Rugby Football League and Rugby Football Union in early 2022.

The role previously belonged to Prince Harry, and the transfer to Kate was the first of the Duke of Sussex’s former patronages to be reallocated to another family member after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped down from their royal roles and relocated to California.
