Pink shares her disappointment with press coverage surrounding her latest album, ‘TRUSTFALL’

REGARD: Pink gets personal in the new album

Pink addressed her frustration with the media coverage of her latest album, Trustfall, which she says has focused on comments she made about Christina Aguilera rather than the work itself.

“I’m so saddened and disappointed by the narrative surrounding some of the press I’ve done around my album Trustfall,” the Grammy winner wrote in an Instagram post on Saturday. “While some of the responsibility lies with me and my inability to lie and my uncanny ability to share too much, my real disappointment lies in the fact that art can never take center stage when you’re a woman.”

Pink also detailed the commitment she’s made to her career over the years.

“The fact that I made one of the most beautiful albums with the most beautiful people – sang my ass off, made myself completely vulnerable – 11 albums in there, sold out stadiums, raised good kids, constantly employing hundreds of good, hardworking people, that only thing they keep asking you for is a goofy fued (sic) from your twenties,” she said. “I take responsibility too — I’m out of practice dodging the bullshit that’s thrown at us hard-working women.”

Pink continued, “I’m notorious for saying too much. But I never lied. And for every one or two women I’ve had trouble with — there are hundreds I’ve complimented and supported and loved. But we don’t talk about that.”

In the post, the “What About Us” singer also called for equal treatment from the media as male celebrities.

“I wonder when was the last time Bradley Cooper or Robert Deniro was asked in interview after interview about any fights they’ve ever had. How about Christian Bale? We’re staying with them, aren’t we?” She said. “I want to have the same opportunity.”

“I also believe in an authentic apology — and an acknowledgment of your mistakes,” Pink added. “I should say less. Every time. Say less. Something I’m working on. That was a good memory. My desire is to share the pain and celebration of this messy life through music and on stage. And I have it did it. Incredible and consistent.”

To conclude her post, Pink wrote a note to her Lady Marmalade contributor: “To Christina – you know where we are. Solved. Onward and up.”

“And thank you all for listening – and for the 25 years of amazing love and support. Peace ✌🏽,” she said.

During an interview with Buzzfeed released last week, Pink ranked her 2001 music video “Lady Marmalade” as her least favorite film, telling the outlet, “It wasn’t very fun to shoot,” because of “some personalities”.

Following her comments, some users on social media concluded that Pink blamed her co-worker Aguilera.

Pink later accepted Twitter to deny the rumours, writing: “You guys are all crazy. Xtina had nothing to do with who contributed to that song and over and over what actually happened. I have zero interest in your damn drama. If you haven’t noticed – I’m a little busy selling.

“And by selling I mean tickets and albums,” she said in another tweet. “I as well kissed Xtina’s mouth. I don’t have to kiss her ass.”

In conjunction with the release of her new album, Pink announced a fall 2023 arena tour, beginning October 12 in Sacramento, California and concluding November 18 in Orlando, Florida.
