The Mississippi State Bulldogs have enjoyed the comforts of home for the past three games, but now they must hit the streets. MSU and the Kentucky Wildcats will face off in an SEC fight at Kroger Field on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET. The Bulldogs know how to get points on the board – the squad has finished with flashy totals in their last three matchups – so hopefully Britain likes a good challenge.
The Arkansas Razorbacks usually have all the answers at home, but on Saturday, MSU proved too difficult a challenge. MSU hurt Arkansas with a sharp 40-17 win. MSU relied on the efforts of RB Dillon Johnson, who had two TDs and 100 yards on 17 carries, and QB Will Rogers, who had three TDs and 395 yards on 48 tries. That nimble footwork stands out as Johnson hit the 100-yard rushing mark for the first time this season. Johnson’s sharp performance also upped his single-game rushing touchdown for the season.
Meanwhile, the score was 7-7 at halftime, but the Wildcats weren’t quite on par with the South Carolina Gamecocks in the second half when they met on Saturday. UK came up short against USC, losing 24-14. It’s the first time this season that Britain have let their home crowd down. QB Kaiya Sheron had quite a memorable game, throwing an interception with just a 178-yard pass.
MSU is the favorite in this instance with an expected 7-point lead over the win. They were consistent moneymakers against the spread when favored (3-1-1) so could be worth a quick bet.
The Bulldogs’ win put them 5-1, while the Wildcats’ loss pulled them back to 4-2. MSU is 3-1 on wins this season and UK is 0-1 on losses.
