Manchester United transfer news LIVE Man Utd takeover latest as Mason Mount bid rejected
Manchester United are awaiting a breakthrough in the transfer market as Mason Mount negotiations drag on. The club have seen three offers rejected by Chelsea who want to find a solution.
Mount is out of contract next summer and United are reluctant to increase their offers even further. Chelsea know Mount wants to leave and must find a solution to solve his financial fair play problems.
Reports from Saturday night suggested the two clubs have reached a “dead end” and United could therefore be looking at alternative destinations. Moises Caicedo has been eyed as a possible option although Brighton & Hove Albion will not let him go cheaply.
Bayern Munich have now been linked with a move from Mount. He worked alongside Thomas Tuchel at Stamford Bridge and the German club could advertise his signing.
With David de Gea yet to sign a new contract and the goalkeeper possibly leaving the club, a new goalkeeper is also needed. Inter star Andre Onana is the latest name to join the squad, having previously worked with Erik ten Hag.

United are considering a Garnacho shirt number change
United are considering making Alejandro Garnacho their new number seven as his stratospheric rise continues.
The 18-year-old Garnacho only made his first-team debut against Chelsea in April last year but has already established himself as one of United’s most captivating strikers.
The number 7 was vacated by Cristiano Ronaldo in November when he forced his departure and Garnacho, currently wearing the number 49, signed a five-year deal in April.
Garnacho would become the first teenager to receive the No. 7 since Ronaldo in 2003.

United “shifts” focus to other targets after mount pursuit
United are turning their attention to other midfield targets after making little progress in chasing Mason Mount.
The Times say United will now consider other options, with Brighton’s Moises Caicedo at the top of the list.
Brighton are believed to value Caicedo at around £80m, much more than Chelsea are asking for Mount, but United are reportedly ready to take that into account given his younger age and vastly different contract situation.

United unhappy with Chelsea over Mason Mount situation
United are unhappy with Chelsea as negotiations continue over a potential Mason Mount transfer.
Director of football John Murtough is believed to have taken a dim view of Chelsea’s strategy of communicating United’s offers through the club’s dedicated correspondents in London.

United has five realizable assets
Those on the Old Trafford tour next weekend will need to be on the lookout for names to be removed from the home dressing room. Jack Butland’s mooring was appropriately adjacent to one of the exit routes.
Marcel Sabitzer’s name had been removed when press officials cast him for a game against club media last month. Wout Weghorst’s performance was still there and Danny Webber, our ‘ringer’ up front, scored more goals in one half at Old Trafford than the Dutchman has managed in 15 games at the stadium.
Weghorst’s name will be deleted next week. Maybe David de Geas too. De Gea is the only United player whose contract is expiring and could be considered a member of the regular squad.
It’s this unofficial status that keeps United from proactively pushing others into the departure lounge. For most of the last year United have been trying to extend De Gea’s 12 years at the club and only recently has there been a postponement which could see him known as a former United player from next Saturday.

assemble alternatives
Manchester United are at a crucial stage in negotiations with Chelsea over top midfielder Mason Mount.
United’s third offer for the Englishman was rejected by the Blues, despite Mount’s contract having one year left. The club offered £55m with Chelsea hoping for a further £10m.
Mount wants to go and Chelsea knows it. MEN Sports is aware technical director John Murtough has “hands tied” over United’s finances. Erik ten Hag also needs a new striker to strengthen his squad this summer.
United could reportedly be looking elsewhere following Chelsea’s recent setback. It has been stressed that although the 24-year-old is their main target, Ten Hag has other options in mind.

Mason Mount “Dead End”
Manchester United are aiming for other targets like Moises Caicedo after a standoff with Chelsea over Mason Mount, The Times reports.
United offered £55m, which was turned down by Chelsea, who wanted £65m despite Mount having a year left on his contract. United are tight on their budget and are reluctant to bid higher.
Therefore, the report says they are looking at the Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder, who would cost significantly more than Mount.
