After losing 2-1 to Houston Dynamo 2, North Texas SC decided to part ways with head coach Javier Cano. With the team sitting 11th in the Western Conference and with just nine games left, the club will turn to assistant coach John Gall, who will serve as interim head coach for the remainder of the season. Gall will continue to be supported by current assistant coach Michel Garbini. As the team continues to push for a playoff spot, Gall and the rest of North Texas need to come together and produce positive results. The team is looking to recover from the tough away game with an upcoming match against Sporting KC II.
In the last game, forward Hope Avayevu made his sixth goal contribution, the highest for his team, in the 2-1 loss to Houston Dynamo 2. The assist in the last game takes his tally to four goals and two assists this season, having only played 12 games. Avayevu not only leads the team in goals, but also in shots and shots on goal. The young forward has registered two assists in his last three games since returning from a long-term injury. The Ghanaian is looking to continue his form in the upcoming game against Sporting KC II.
Sporting KC II go into the game with a 2-1 home win over Earthquakes II. Led by head coach Benny Feilhaber, the team currently sits fifth in the Western Conference with 29 points from 17 games. The club are no strangers to scoring goals, sitting fifth with 1.71 total points per game. The strong attack is led by striker Pau Vidal, who has scored 10 goals in 17 games to become the second-highest goalscorer in the league in a draw. Sporting KC II has also had key scoring contributions from midfielder Ethan Bryant and forward Alenis Vargas, who combined had 10 goals and assists.
There are two options for parking at Choctaw Stadium: E and L lots. Fans are asked to purchase a prepaid parking ticket as game day parking fees vary based on events in the district. Tickets can be purchased through the AXS app or in person at Choctaw Stadium. Fans can also buy tickets online. Fans can purchase either general admission tickets for $20 or court-level seating for $40. In July, children receive a free ticket with the purchase of an adult ticket.
