In addition to free access to Everyone Active centers, Sporting Champions also have the opportunity to receive valuable mentoring and guidance from an impressive group of elite athletes.

The program’s all-star lineup of award-winning Olympians and Paralympians includes paraswimmer Maisie Summers-Newton – who trains at Moulton Leisure Center – Jennifer and Jessica Gadirova, Lutalo Muhammad, Richard Kilty, Lauren Steadman and Kadeena Cox.*

Throughout the year, these elite athletes will share their experiences and expertise in group mentoring sessions covering topics such as mental wellbeing, nutrition, financial management, social media and media training.

Olympic silver medalist Colin Jackson will continue to support the program through his role as ambassador, working with elite athletes to make the sport more accessible to local communities.

Tokyo 2020 Paratriathlon Champion and cross-country skier Lauren Steadman said, “I am extremely proud to be an elite athlete for this year’s Sporting Champions program and to help mentor, guide and inspire aspiring athletes in their sporting careers. ”

“The fact that there is now a brand that is creating opportunity and helping younger athletes reach their full potential is amazing. I hope that through our mentoring days I can share my knowledge and experience with the Sporting Champions and that together we can create an incredible future generation of athletes.”

Everyone Active Contracts Manager Jamie Brightwell said: “Everyone Active’s Sporting Champions program has been very successful in providing exceptional support to emerging talent and we are delighted to once again support athletes from West Northamptonshire on their journey to success.”

“It is fantastic to see how the program has grown over the years and now offers more than 1,000 athletes across the country access to world-class training facilities and support.

“As a leisure provider working with West Northamptonshire Council, we think it is important to serve all parts of the community. We hope that we can continue to make a real difference in the success of our athletes and look forward to seeing what this year’s renewed iteration of the program will bring.”
