In what could be described as either the dumbest move available to them or simply marketing genius, they’ve unveiled the sequel’s big cameo, and director David F. Sandberg is understandably seething.

This is the end may evoke everything wrong with modern Hollywood, but the film apparently remains a cult favorite among moviegoers, helping it climb the ranks of the most-watched streaming titles in the United States. Starring a star cast including Jonah Hill, James Franco, Emma Watson, Rihanna, Paul Rudd, Channing Tatum, Kevin Hart and Aziz Ansari, the satirical apocalyptic film indeed finds new life on HBO Max and proves the end isn’t in yet View.

Shazam! wrath of the gods is in a precarious state of generating hype before its big premiere, so Warner Bros. is helping David F. Sandberg’s sequel the only way it knows how — by spoiling large parts of the film. In this case, it’s a cameo appearance by a DCU fan favorite in a recent TV commercial. We won’t spoil it for you here, but the director is understandably outraged at the company for spilling the beans in such a casual manner.
