Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II has opened its first multiplayer beta, and PlayStation owners can get in on the fun early. Unfortunately, it doesn’t launch without hiccups; A growing number of gamers are reporting that their games keep crashing and/or encountering a specific error message. Modern Warfare 2 Beta solution keeps crashing
Some players suggest restarting COD: Modern Warfare 2 could be a solution to the crashing problem. If that doesn’t work, you can also try resetting your PC or console. Reddit user u/psn1453 suggests that PS4 users should try rebuilding their console’s database. Here’s how:
- Turn off your PS4 by pressing and holding the power button on the console.
- Once the console is off, press and hold the power button again. Release after hearing the second beep – the first press will beep, followed by another seven seconds later. The second beep means the console has entered safe mode.
- Connect the DualShock 4 controller to the PS4 with a USB cable and press the PlayStation button on the controller.
- Then select the option “5: Rebuild database”.
- Follow all the instructions and wait for the process to complete.

Fixed CE-108255-1 crash in COD: Modern Warfare 2 Beta on PS5
According to the official PlayStation support page, error message CE-108255-1 means there is something wrong with the application. Unfortunately, this means you’ll have to reinstall the entire game to fix the problem since it’s an installation error. Here’s how you can do it:
- Delete the game by opening Settings > Storage and reinstall the game.
- Then boot your PS5 into Safe Mode and select the “5. Select Rebuild Database”.
- How to start your PS5 in safe mode:
- Turn off your console by pressing and holding the power button for three seconds. The power indicator flashes for a few moments before turning off.
- Once the console is off, press and hold the power button again. Release after hearing the second beep – the first press will beep, followed by another seven seconds later.
- Connect the controller with the USB cable and press the PS button on the controller.
- If the error persists, reset your PS5 via Settings > System > System Software > Reset PS5 and try installing the application again
- You may want to back up your data beforehand.
- If the above remedies don’t work, contact PlayStation Support.
COD: Modern Warfare 2 The multiplayer beta begins September 16th for PlayStation owners and ends September 24th for all platforms when crossplay functionality is enabled. Below is the full list of multiplayer beta schedules:

- Second Weekend Early Access Beta (All platforms and crossplay, Xbox Live Gold required):
- Thursday, September 22 at 10:00 a.m. PT through Monday, September 26 at 10:00 a.m. PT
- All PS4 and PS5 owners can access it, regardless of pre-order status
- Second Open Beta Weekend (All Platforms and Crossplay):
- Saturday, September 24 at 10:00 a.m. PT through Monday, September 26 at 10:00 a.m. PT
