Sporting KC Weekly Schedule: Aug. 8-14, 2022

Sporting Kansas City (6-14-5, 23 points) travels to Texas to take on runners-up Austin FC (13-5-6, 45 points) at 8 p.m. CT on Saturday at Q2 Stadium.

The Western Conference clash will be broadcast locally on 38 The Spot with three hour coverage beginning at 7:30pm CT. The broadcast will also be streamed live on SportingKC.com and on the Sporting KC app for viewers in Kansas and Missouri (excluding the St. Louis area per MLS policy) and on ESPN+ for out-of-market subscribers.

In addition, Sporting KC pub affiliates throughout the Midwest will be showing the game and the radio broadcast from Saturday’s showdown will be broadcast on Sports Radio 810 WHB and La Grande 1340 AM.

MLS NEXT ALL STAR GAME ON WEDNESDAY

Sporting KC Academy U-17 midfielder Edgar Bazan will represent the club in the inaugural MLS NEXT All-Star game presented by Allstate at the National Sports Center in Blaine, Minn. on Wednesday at 11 a.m. CT. The game – featuring an East vs West game format – will be streamed live on Twitter, MLSsoccer.com and the MLS App.

SPECIAL OLYMPICS UNIFIED ALL-STAR GAME ON WEDNESDAY

The MLS All-Star celebrations continue Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. CT with the Special Olympics Unified All-Star Game presented by MLS WORKS, ESPN and Coca-Cola at the National Sports Center in Blaine, Minnesota. Sporting KC representatives Aeriana Ortiz and Eva McMahon will attend the match, which will be streamed live on ESPN3, MLSsoccer.com and the MLS App.

ADULT FIELD DAY AT CMP ON SATURDAY

Adult Field Day returns to Children’s Mercy Park on Saturday. Check-in for the event begins at 10am CT and registration is available online at SeatGeek.com. Only one ticket is required per team, and in addition to entering the competition, the $400 entry fee also gets each team member a commemorative koozie, entry to the awards ceremony, and a $10 Sporting Pay credit redeemable for special offers or retail items at Children’s can grace park.

JEWISH FILM FESTIVAL AT CMP ON SUNDAY

On Sunday, the Kansas City Jewish Film Festival (KCJFF) is screening “A Common Goal” at Children’s Mercy Park as part of the Movies at the Park series of Sporting Club Special Events. Sporting KC midfielder Gadi Kinda will address the attendees after the film showing the history of the Israel men’s national team. SKC II HOUSES TIMBERS2 ON SUNDAY

Sporting KC II will continue the club’s inaugural season in MLS NEXT Pro on Sunday at 17:00 CT against Western Conference opponents Portland Timbers2 at Swope Soccer Village.
