College Basketball Picks Today: San Diego State Aztecs ML vs. Creighton Bluejays (+115), 2:20 p.m. ET
According to KenPom, the Aztecs rank 4th in Adjusted Defense Efficiency and play at the slowest pace of the remaining teams (255th). Most impressive is their perimeter defense, which ranks third best in the nation, keeping their opponents at 28.2% from across the arc.
Creighton’s playstyle is very similar to Alabama’s, and the Aztecs are likely to have the upper hand in many ways in this encounter. Like Alabama, the Bluejays rely heavily on deflecting shots from beyond the arc; However, there were numerous times during their season when a poor evening of shooting from the outside made the difference between winning and losing simply because they refused to give up their style of play. Because they rely so heavily on their 3 point shooting, assisting the Aztecs to win will be our best game.

XFL Pick Today: Houston Renegades -3.0 over San Antonio Brahmas (-110), 3:00 p.m. ET
These teams played each other just last week, and Arlington won that matchup away from home. The Renegades held San Antonio to just 10 points in that game, and the Brahmas have now lost three straight ugly. Add to that the last time the Brahmas went away, they only had six points in a one-sided loss to Seattle.
It’s also worth noting that Arlington is 2-0 at home this year, so assisting them to win and cover will be the game.

College basketball picks today: Miami Hurricanes +4 over Texas Longhorns (-110), 5:05 p.m. ET
For its excellent defense, Texas hasn’t been incredible in pick and roll defense and isolation defense this season. The Longhorns only rank in the 53rd and 67th percentiles in these games, according to Synergy, which is concerning against Miami’s offense.
The Hurricanes’ offense is based on creating a discrepancy and then exploiting that discrepancy. Miami ranks in the 77th percentile on offense pick and roll and 96th percentile on offense isolation, so the offensive success could continue here. Finally, Texas is not a team that will punish Miami on the glass. Miami ranks only 175 in defensive rebound rate, but Texas ranks 191 in offensive rebound rate. For that reason, supporting the canes to cover them will be the game.

NHL Pick Today: Vancouver Canucks vs. Chicago Blackhawks – Over 6.5 Goals (-115), 6:00 p.m. ET
The Canucks and Blackhawks met once this season in a game that Vancouver won 5-2. Vancouver has an 11-5-1 record in their last 17 games. In that span of time, they’ve scored 4+ goals twice against Dallas, Toronto and Ottawa, among others. Chicago, on the other hand, have conceded 15 goals in their last 3 games through Saturday.
As of today’s game, the over this season is 43-26-3 for the Canucks, including 25-10-1 on the road. These consistently high totals are due to Vancouver’s decent goal-shooting performance, ranked 11th in the NHL, and below-average goal avoidance, ranked 27th.
