VORTEX PROVIDES RAIN INSURANCE FOR DICK’S SPORTING GOODS OPEN, PGA TOUR CHAMPIONS EVENT

Vortex Weather Insurance has partnered with organizers of the DICK’S Sporting Goods Open to provide rain insurance for last week’s PGA TOUR Champions event at beautiful En-Joie Golf Course in Endicott, New York.

Operated by Broome County Community Charities, Inc. (BCCC), the DICK’S Sporting Goods Open has raised over $18 million to charity. BCCC has been the sponsoring organization of professional golf in central New York for over 43 years. Broome Charities’ original mission, founded in 1973, focused 501(c)(3) funding on health organizations with the goal of serving the greatest number of people in their communities. Both the UHS Foundation and the Lourdes Hospital Foundation have been major recipients of BCCC’s annual donations. These contributions are the result of partnerships with DICK’S Sporting Goods, the players of the PGA TOUR and the PGA TOUR Champions.

This year’s event featured a star-studded field including John Daly, Bernhard Langer, Ernie Els, David Duval, Miguel Angel Jimenez and more, giving golf fans in central New York a unique opportunity to see some of the game’s legends up close and personal.

Padraig Harrington won the event with a score of −16, three shots over runner-up Mike Weir (−13). The win earns Harrington his second PGA TOUR Champions win of 2022.
