What you should know

Standing on the wrong side in a one-sided rivalry with the North Carolina Tar Heels, the Duke Blue Devils are hoping to record their first win since November 10, 2018. Duke and UNC will face off in an ACC bout at 8 p.m. ET on Saturday at Brooks Field at Wallace Wade Stadium. The Blue Devils are looking to keep their three-game winning streak alive.

Duke fought well in overtime against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets last week but ended on a less than desirable result, falling 23-20 behind. QB Riley Leonard had a pretty memorable game, throwing an interception and fumbling the ball once for just 3.32 yards per pass attempt.

Speaking of close games, UNC certainly made it a thrill, but they pulled it off with a 27-24 win over the Miami (FL) Hurricanes last week. The team collected 21 points in the first half and used them to win. It was another big night for UNC’s QB Drake Maye, who passed on 28 attempts for two TDs and 309 yards, while also catching an additional 53 yards on the ground. Topping the highlight reel was Maye’s 74-yard TD bomb against WR JJ Jones in the first quarter.

The Blue Devils are expected to lose this next one by 7. Those playing the odds have seen things go back and forth with Duke being 2-3 against the spread.

Duke is now 4-2 while UNC sits at 5-1. Two offensive stats to keep in mind as you watch: Duke comes into the matchup and boasts the 24th fastest touchdowns in the nation with 14. UNC have shown offensive firepower of their own coming into the game with a total of 33 offensive touchdowns, good for third-best in the nation.
