Wyndham Clark family tree: What to know about golfer’s father, mother, wife & more as he contends at U.S. Open
Wyndham Clark may not have been the most well-known PGA Tour golfer to compete at the 2023 US Open.
After that, the 29-year-old will surely be a better known name.
Clark put on a stunning performance at the Los Angeles Country Club as he battled the likes of Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, Rickie Fowler and Cameron Smith for his first major title. Regardless of the outcome, his performance proved he could be a threat in the PGA Tour’s biggest events in the future.
Certainly it was a weekend his family will be proud of.
Clark has often spoken about his family throughout his PGA Tour career and how they helped launch his golf career. Here’s everything you need to know about his relationship with his parents, siblings and marital status as he occupies one of the biggest spotlights in golf.

Who is Wyndham Clark’s father?
Randall Clark is Wyndham Clark’s father. His father now works as a real estate agent, but he had a brief career as a professional tennis player.
Wyndham Clark said his father was the driving force behind his interest in golf. The two often played golf together and Randall helped his son improve his game during his youth.
“My mom took me to golf first, but my dad was the one who really got me into golf,” Clark explained at the US Open. “He only learned it a few years before me, when I was three years old. Every time I went golfing when I was young, I was there with my dad.”
There are so many memories of how we left at 6am, our family was like on a family vacation, we played golf and got back before noon and it was the only way my mom would let us. There are a lot of memories. And then he took me to tournaments.
In addition, Clark praised his father for instilling in him the qualities he needed to succeed.
“He instilled hard work and discipline in me and I feel like I get a lot of my passion from him,” Clark said. “My father is one of the main reasons I’m here.”
“Hopefully (Sunday) can be a great Father’s Day for him,” he added.
Who is Wyndham Clark’s mother?
Lise Clark was Wyndham Clark’s mother. She won Miss New Mexico in 1981 and worked as a national sales manager for beauty company Mary Kay.
She died on August 2, 2013 at the age of 55 after a battle with breast cancer. Her death hit Wyndham — then 19 and an Oklahoma State University golfer — hard. He was considering quitting the sport, he told reporters at the Wells Fargo Championship earlier this year.
“I played horribly,” Clark said, according to CNN. “It often happened that I would storm off the golf course in qualifying or in tournaments and just go as fast as I could without knowing where I was going.
“The pressure of playing golf and then not having my mum there and no one to call was really hard on me. Then I’ve had several moments like this professionally where you just missed several cuts in a row or felt like your game was good, you didn’t get much out of it and you were just thinking [walking away].
“Max Homa has a great quote: ‘Every golfer is one shot away from believing they can win the Masters or one shot away from quitting golf.’ That’s really a great quote because that’s the truth. I’m glad I stuck it out and am here now.”
Clark persevered, hanging on to one of the messages his mother would bring to him before each of his tournaments.
Play big.
“When she was sick and I was in college, she said to me, ‘Hey, play big,'” Clark said at the US Open, according to CNN.
“‘Play for something bigger than yourself. You have a platform to either testify or help or be an example to so many people.’
“I took that to heart. If I play out there, I want to do that for them. I want to show everyone who I am and how much fun I am out there playing and I hope I can inspire people to do that.” I want to be like me and be better than me.
Suffice it to say that Lise was one of Clark’s biggest supporters. So it’s no surprise that he thought about her a lot during the US Open.
“I wish she could be here, but I know she’s proud of me and has had a huge impact on my life — I’m who I am today because of her,” Clark said. “She was like my rock and my constant supporter. So when things were difficult or things were going well, she was always there to keep me grounded and either push me further or keep the momentum going.”
“I’m feeling a little bad. She is everything and I miss her and everything I do out here means a lot to her.”
