How to pre-order Hogwarts Legacy — including the pricey collector’s edition
After being shrouded in mystery for so long, concrete details about Hogwarts’ legacy are finally emerging. First we got a lengthy gameplay presentation in March, and earlier this week we got a brand new Dark Arts-focused trailer.
The open-world role-playing game set in the Harry Potter universe is scheduled for release on February 10, 2023 and will be available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One and PC. A Nintendo Switch version is coming at an unspecified later date. Now that the highly-anticipated game has a firm release date, details on how to pre-order Hogwarts Legacy have also been conjured up.
The game is set to come in multiple physical editions, including a slick Deluxe and Collector’s Edition. Those who prefer to buy their games digitally also have the choice between two editions. If you’re looking to secure your copy as early as possible, Hogwarts Legacy will officially be available for pre-order starting Thursday, August 25 at 1pm ET, but you can already pre-order your copy of the standard edition from a few select retailers now.
What is included in the Hogwarts Legacy Deluxe Edition?
The Hogwarts Legacy Deluxe Edition will be released cross-platform and will cost $80/£75 on PS5 and Xbox Series X, $70/£75 on PS4 and Xbox One, and $70/£60 on PC and Nintendo Switch.
This premium version of Hogwarts Legacy includes 72 hours of early access to the game, allowing you to start playing on February 7th, 2023. You’ll also get a bunch of in-game goodies like the Dark Arts Pack. This DLC pack includes an exclusive Dark Arts cosmetic set, a flying Thestral mount, and access to the Dark Arts Battle Arena where you can test your mastery of the dark side of magic against waves of challenging enemies.
There will also be a Hogwarts Legacy Digital Deluxe Edition priced at $80/£75 across platforms. It includes the same goodies as its physical counterpart, alongside the Dark Arts Garrison Hat and a cross-generational digital upgrade for PlayStation and Xbox. If you’re planning on planning Hogwarts Legacy across console generations, this is the version for you because, as mentioned, the Standard Edition doesn’t come with a free upgrade.
What is included in the Hogwarts Legacy Collector’s Edition?
Would-be wizards might want to treat themselves to the pricey Hogwarts Legacy Collector’s Edition. This ultra-premium version of the game retails for $289/£269 on PC and PS4/Xbox One and a whopping $300/£279 on PS5 and Xbox Series X.
The Collector’s Edition includes all of the Deluxe Edition content mentioned above, plus a life-size book-based levitating wand that will look pretty epic on display. It also includes a Steelbook Collector’s Case and an in-game Kelpie Robe to outfit your character. We’re expecting this edition to be relatively tight, so be sure to get your pre-order fast when it goes live tomorrow.
