Padres vs. Mets Livestream: How to Watch the Wild Card Series Without Cable
Baseball’s postseason is here, and this year in a new format. Instead of 10 teams in the playoffs, we now have a 12-team tournament—the three division winners plus three wildcard teams in each league. Postseason play begins on Friday with the wild card round. Each wildcard streak is now the best of three instead of the previous one-game affair where winner takes all.
The New York Mets host the San Diego Padres in a National League wildcard series. Games will be played in New York on Friday, Saturday and (if necessary) Sunday. Game 1 starts today at 8:07pm ET (5:07pm PT). ESPN with Yu Darvish taking the mound for the Padres against Max Scherzer for the Mets.

So you can follow baseball’s postseason from the wild card round through the World Series wirelessly.
The Mets nearly won the NL East but lost a tiebreaker to the Braves and now face the Padres in the wild card round. However, they finished with a better record than the Padres, so all three games will be played at Citi Field in Queens.
Here’s the schedule for the Padres-Mets series.
- Game 1: Friday at 8:07 p.m. ET (5:07 p.m. PT) on ESPN
- Game 2: Saturday at 7:37 p.m. ET (4:37 p.m. PT) on ESPN
- Game 3: Sunday at 7:37 p.m. ET (4:37 p.m. PT) on ESPN (if necessary)

All wild card games take place on ESPN, ESPN2 and ABC. Looking ahead, the next two rounds in the National League (NLDS and NLCS) will be played on Fox and FS1, while the ALDS and ALCS will be played on TBS. The World Series, which begins October 28, will be broadcast on Fox.
